While some of us are just beginning our high school careers, others are so close to getting their first taste of the real world.
Senior-itis... what exactly is senior-itis? Senior-itis, most commonly known as a dose of reality. When high school students reach their final year they tend to think that their high school career is over, assuming that their work is coming to an end and their senior year should be easy. Unfortunately, by the end of the school year some students are shocked to find that what was originally seen as an innocent case of Senior-itis is now a shocking invite to the big place the we call, actuality.
Your high school days are thought to be the best times of your Life, which to each individual it might be different. We have all heard that college, is going to be an exciting, new and different adventure. So why not be excited, and say bye to high school and hello to college!
Here are a few words of advise from some wise souls....who have been there, and done that! Ms. Glenda Lee, a well-known teacher who gives to every student, a piece of her heart; describes, to us that you can be ANYBODY you want to be. She made clear, that you cannot let anyone tell you that you can't be who you wish to be, because yes YOU CAN, yes indeed.
One other line, Ms. Lee was able to squeeze in to our beneficial conversation, is to NOT procrastinate and do what you have to do, then what you want to do. Big thanks to Ms. Lee for her sharing of wisdom!
Assistant Principal, Mrs. Floyd, was also able to give us insight on how we should approach our coming of age and maturity. First, she starts by saying to the Freshman, "Take a deep breath and make sure you choose your friends wisely. Be careful who your friends are." To sophomores, she includes "Work hard this year, because your Junior year is the most fun!" She goes on to say, this line directed to Juniors "This is your best year" Finally for our present day seniors, "Do not skip school, it will mess up your college transcript. Make a decision before you choose where you go to college. It is not good to be undecided."
Thanks so much Mrs. Floyd, for your wise words of wisdom, we should all take into consideration! Hope you all have enjoyed the intro to the new and improved, Petey the Pirate blog!
