Bruce Jenner: Transgender

Former Olympian Bruce Jenner has recently come out with his new identity as a transdender. He is known for being the wife to Kris Jenner and father to Kylie and Kendall Jenner. America knows him the most from his family's reality television show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Last month Jenner appeared on Diane Sawyer and announced that the rumors of him being transgender were indeed true. He said he had been taking female hormones for five years in the 80's but stopped upon meeting his wife, Kris. Now that he has come out he plans on starting his full transition soon.
He has left it up to his family and children as to what they will call him. Most call him "Bruce" or "Dad"despite him having a woman's stage name that the media does not yet know. His family is 100% supportive of his decisions and are public about it.
Bruce commented that his entire life wanting to be a woman was always something in his heart. He identifies himself as a complete heterosexual however because he has never been with a man. He also stated that he does not know if he will be with a man upon completing his full transformation.
Jenner is completely open with what is going on and is able to do so by his non-stop support system from his children and step-children as well. He has ignored the media and put himself first. Further details and coverage on Bruce's transformation will be released later.

Important Reminders For Studnets

Starting tomorrow testing for Lumberton Senior High School will begin. Testing will be scheduled different for each type of class and also for the periods of the class. It is important to not only know, but understand the schedules for testing. It is important that you be here for the days of testing, because missing a day may mean you will fail a class. Failing a class for seniors can mean you will not graduate and that is not what  a person wants to run into!
Dear Senior, do not forget to send your final transcripts to your college of choice. Failure to send these transcripts may delay funds or even enrollment into your desired college. It is important to remember things that are required AFTER graduation! Congratulations C/O 2015, these next few weeks shall be a blast and a new step into the future! Congrats and have an amazing future, these are the days of our pasttttt!!!

Educational topic of the day

todays topic is Parents being too involved
Parents who are overprotective with their sons or daughters in high school are often accused of ruining the entire high school experience for them. However, according to recent education surveys, those high school students who have closer and personal contact with their parents are more satisfied with their high school life because of that connection. Students with this kind of closeness to their parents have more success in their writing and critical thinking and more likely to interact with their peers and teachers. However, parents with a hyper involved type of connection with their sons or daughters in high school will feel the opposite.

Students give back during break

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Alternative Spring Break 2015 proved again that helping others is a learning experience and lots of fun, too.

Although it was unlikely this group was giving up a beer-soaked spring break somewhere else, many of the 10 students who traveled to Orlando, Florida, were relatively inexperienced volunteers. They told the story of the university’s Alternative Spring Break during a recent luncheon.

TB threat remains in Robeson

Coughing, fatigue, fever, chills — sounds like the flu or pneumonia, right?

According to local health officials, there’s another diagnosis Robeson County residents should suspect when they experience these symptoms: tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis, which typically affects the lungs, is spread through the air. Symptoms include a cough lasting more than three weeks, chest pain, coughing blood, severe weight loss and night sweats.
