Pirate Poet

Lumberton High, one of our very own pirates has had their poem published! High school senior Drue Mcneill has had her poem, "The Promise of Forever" put in the book "Celebration of Poets". Though sadly I am not sure where the book will be sold, below is the poem that was written by this talented young woman.

   

The Promise of Forever

How am I supposed to feel?

These feelings are so real.

A burning passion

With no attachments. 

A love so deep

It's easy to keep.

A connection so strong

Rarely do things go wrong.

Where there is no giving up;

Even when things get tough

Trials and hardships

Just pass by.

When it starts to hurt,

We listen to each other cry

The love burns steady

And we're both ready.

Marriage.

It promises forever.
