Ebola Facts

All we are hearing about in the news is Ebola and people are afraid, but that's because they don't know the facts. Ebola is spreading through West Africa. Ebola was actually discovered in 1976 in Africa on the banks of the Ebola River. It is suspected to have originated in bats. Smaller outbreaks of this disease have occurred since 1976, but this is the worst outbreak yet. Ebola is super deadly because it is super aggressive. The first thing this disease destroys is your immune system. Death usually occurs within 5-9 days of showing symptoms. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, rash, and internal and external bleeding. This disease has a 50% fatality rate. But these are just facts! You should not be afraid of facts! This disease is very hard to contract because of the fact that you only get it by coming into direct contact with a patient's bodily fluids. More people die from the flu every year. Simply if you are afraid of this disease you have been watching the news way too much, so simply turn the TV off and don't worry about contracting Ebola, it is very hard for you to catch it. Students stay healthy and stay informed, that is the best way to not have fear.
