Seniors in Robeson County are being offered a free Christmas dinner thanks to the Robeson County Church and Community Center, the county’s Department of Social Services, elected state and local officials, and businesses from throughout the area.

This is the sixth consecutive year that people 65 and older are able to participate in the event that this year is titled “Holiday Caring for our Seniors,” according to Darlene Jacobs, executive director of the Robeson County Church and Community Center and one of the event’s organizers. It is expected that at least 500 food boxes will be distributed Saturday at Lumberton Jr. High School.

On another note, I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Everyone be safe over the holidays and buckle up!
