The subcommittee tasked with developing a leadership profile for the next chancellor of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke decided on Monday that person should embrace the diversity of the campus, be a proven fundraiser, and be a strong motivator of student development.
With help from Caroline Withson, a representative of Academic Search Inc., the subcommittee drafted the profile statement after hearing from community members, faculty and students during public forums earlier this month.
Dwight Pearson, a trustee at the university, emphasized the importance of having a candidate who embraced the race and ethnicity of the campus.
