Students with the Public Schools of Robeson County will have just one day added to their school year to make up for days lost to recent winter weather.
The students have missed five school days this year because of weather. Schools were closed Tuesday and Wednesday because of two winter storms that passed through the county this week. Classes were called off on Feb. 17 and Feb. 18 because of icy weather, extreme cold and power outages, and on Jan. 14 they were canceled anticipation of freezing rain. As a result, students will have school on March 13, a Friday that was scheduled as an optional teacher workday.
